Fontana, Oskar Maurus, b. Vienna, April 13, 1889, 
d. Vienna, May 4, 1969, narrative writer, dramatist, poet, 
theatre critic and journalist; 1945-1949 chief editor of the "Wiener 
Kurier", 1951-1958 theatre critic with the "Presse" newspaper. F. 
edited expressionist anthologies ("Die Aussaat", 1915) and wrote 
expressionist works ("Die Milchbrueder", 1913) and novels about 
contemporary life.

des Beg Begouja, 1946); Insel Elephantine, 1924 (revised version 
entitled Katastrophe am Nil, 1947); Der Weg durch den Berg, 1936; Der
