d. Linz, Aug. 25, 1966, expert in law and politician (Austrian
Social Democratic Party, SPOe), 1938 temporary detention, 1945-1947
Federal Minister of Food Supply, 1947-1953 vice-president of the Court
of Audit, 1953-1964 president of the Court of Audit. In 1947 he
founded an Austrian working group which focused on public health
issues. As president of the codex alimentarius commission in the
Ministry of Social Affairs he was highly esteemed for his achievements
in providing a revised version of the Austrian alimentary code Food
Standard, Austrian. President of the Austrian Esperanto movement from
1948.
