Freundlich, Elisabeth, b. Vienna, July 21, 1906, 
d. Vienna, Jan. 25, 2001, author; wife of G.  Anders. 
Studied in Vienna and Paris; after 1938 emigrated via Zurich to Paris, 
where she continued writing, including broadcasts about Austria for 
the French broadcasting corporation. 1940 fled to New York via Spain; 
worked as a librarian and as a German professor. 1950 returned with 
G. Anders to Vienna, where she established herself as an author, 
translator and journalist.
