Wrote political, didactic and above all religious sayings, probably worked in Bavaria, Bohemia and Tyrol from 1250-1275. Possibly descended from a South Tyrolean family of estate officials (Sonnenburg monastery near Brixen/Bressanone). F. v. S. was regarded by later poets as a "Master". \\ Edition: A. Masser, F. v. S.
