b. Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Sept. 12, 1903,
d. Moedling (Lower Austria), March 21, 1988, graphic artist,
illustrator, painter. 1922-1930 studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in
Vienna under A. Delug and K. Sterrer. Best known for his
expressionist woodcuts and illustrations. Awarded the Grand Austrian
State Prize in 1966.
