b. Vienna, April 1, 1896, 
d. Vienna, Feb. 10, 1981, painter. Studied at the Vienna Academy 
of Fine Arts and became known as an outstanding portraitist. 
Best-known work is a painting depicting the signing of the Austrian 
State Treaty with the Allied Powers in the Upper Belvedere Palace in 
1955 (1955-1957).
