Fugger, Anton, b. Augsburg (Germany), June 10, 1493, 
d. Augsburg, Sept. 14, 1560, merchant. Supported 
Ferdinand I when he acquired Bohemia and Hungary in 1526/1527 and 
also in 1531 when Ferdinand was elected King. From 1547/48 he stopped 
financing political projects.
