Funck, Alexius, 
d. Memmingen (Germany), Dec. 3, 1521, merchant. Around 1497 left 
Memmingen and settled in Wiener Neustadt, where he founded one of the 
most important wholesale businesses on Austrian territory and 
maintained business relations with all neighbouring countries. Three 
times mayor of Wiener Neustadt. An epitaph in the Cathedral of Wiener 
Neustadt commemorates his achievements.
