Galtuer, Tyrol, municipality in the district of Landeck, alt. 
1,584 m, pop. 692, area 121.17 km%%sup 2/%, skiing centre 
(465,222 overnight stays) in the inner Paznaun valley, close to the 
provincial border to Vorarlberg; starting point and toll-gate of the 
Silvretta Alpine road; pump station of the Vorarlberger Illwerke-AG. 
Settled by the Walsers around 1300, pilgrimage church restored 
1622-1624 after a fire, Baroque reconstruction 1777-1779, expanded by 
C. Holzmeister 1967/68.
