Gamerith, Walther, b. Eggenburg (Lower Austria), Aug. 30, 1903, 
d. Vienna, Aug. 10, 1949 painter and photographer. Famous for his 
evocative landscape paintings after 1930, which he painted on his 
travels to Germany, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Dalmatia and the 
Lake Attersee area (Upper Austria). After World War II accusatory 
visions, portraits and wood cuts.
