!!!Gasser, Hanns Hans

b. Eisentratten (municipality of Krems in Carinthia), Oct. 2, 1817, 
d. Budapest, Hungary (then Pest), April 24, 1868, sculptor. Studied at 
the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts, worked in Munich from 1842-1847, 
returned to Vienna, numerous works include Carltheater (discontinued 
after 1945),  Arsenal, bank and stock exchange by H. Ferstel (Vienna's 
1st district, Herrengasse). Taught at the Academy from 1850-1851. Next 
to A. D. von  Fernkorn most important Austrian sculptor during the 
late Romantic period.

Welden (Graz), 1859; Maria Theresia (Wiener Neustadt), 1860; 
Kaiserin-Elisabeth-Statue (Vienna), 1860. - Memorial: W. A. Mozart 
(Vienna, Central Cemetery, slightly altered by F. Poenninger), 1859; 
Opern-Brunnen (Vienna), 1868. - Portrait busts, statuettes.
