Gasteiner Konvention (Gastein Convention), treaty on 
Schleswig-Holstein concluded between Austria and Prussia in Bad 
Gastein on August 14, 1865; after the  German-Danish War of 1864 
Austria took over the administration of Holstein, and Prussia that of 
Schleswig; Lauenburg was ceded to Prussia. However, only one year 
after the Convention Austria split with Prussia ( Austro-Prussian War 
of 1866).
