b. Miesenbach (Lower Austria), Aug. 21, 1804, 
d. Miesenbach, Oct. 23, 1829, landscape painter; son of Jakob  
Gauermann, brother of Friedrich  Gauermann. Undertook numerous walking 
tours to study the landscape with his brother Friedrich. Mainly 
painted water-colour studies of the Schneeberg area (Lower Austria) 
and landscapes of Salzkammergut district.
