!!!Gelbe Gewerkschaften

Labour Unions, "Yellow" (Gelbe Gewerkschaften) or peaceful unions were 
associations which generally rejected combative measures for obtaining 
their goals and were often supported by the management as well. Played 
a certain role during the 1%%sup st/%  Republic: In 1928 the 
"Independent Unions" were founded in Leoben; they had close ties with 
the Heimwehr units (para-military forces) and were especially promoted 
by the Oesterreichisch-Alpine Montangesellschaft. Christian unions 
were also often called "yellow" by their opponents.
