b. Vienna, March 21, 1860, 
d. Weissenkirchen in der Wachau (Lower Austria), Nov. 9, 1954, 
painter. Studied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts with E.  Peithner 
von Lichtenfels und C.  Griepenkerl, private lessons with A. Schroedl, 
founding member of the  "Hagenbund" (artists' association founded in 
1900). Travelled extensively in France, Italy and Eastern Europe. His 
favourite subjects for paintings included market scenes and themes 
from the Wachau area. Received numerous awards.
