!!!Generalseminare
Generalseminare: seminaries founded by Joseph II 1783 to replace the
episcopal seminaries and the independent training institutions of the
religious orders; directly under state governance. G. were inter alia
established in Vienna, Graz and Innsbruck. However, dissolved in 1709,
after Joseph´s death, because of protests by the bishops, high
administrative costs and opposition from the population.
