b. Subotica, Yugoslavia (then Maria-Theresiopel), Sept. 23, 1896, 
d. Vienna, Dec. 28, 1954, law graduate and sports functionary; father 
of Heinz  Geroe. 1934-1938 department head in the Ministry of Justice, 
arrested several times after 1938; from 1945-1949 and 1952-1954 
Staatssekretaer and Minister of Justice after being nominated by the 
Austrian Socialist Party as an expert without party affiliation. Also 
president of the Higher Regional Court of Vienna; from 1927-1938 
president of the Vienna Football Association, from 1945-1954 of the 
Austrian Football Association, from 1946-1954 president of the 
Austrian Olympic Committee.
