Schüler von [Leopold Mozart|AEIOU/Mozart,_Johann_Georg_Leopold] in Salzburg, ab 1789 bei der Truppe 
[Emanuel Schikaneders|AEIOU/Schikaneder,_Emanuel] tätig, sang den Sarastro bei der Uraufführung der "Zauberflöte", war ab 1794 vor allem in Brünn, Mainz und Mannheim tätig. [Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart|Biographien/Mozart,_Wolfgang_Amadeus] schrieb für ihn die Arie "Per questa bella mano" (KV 612).
