Germonik, Ludwig, b. Rijeka, Croatia (then Fiume), Nov. 29, 1823, 
d. Vienna, Dec. 7, 1909, journalist and author. Civil servant 
until 1848, then worked as a publicist; editor-in-chief of "Das 
Inland" from 1874-1878, later of the "Patriot", founded the 
Grillparzerverein (Grillparzer Association) in 1874; member of the  
Iduna.

Alpengluehen, 1877 (poetry); Die Weiber von Veldes, 1878 
(drama).
