b. Teplice, Czech Republic (then Teplitz), Jan. 15, 1844, d. Vienna, Oct. 31, 1924. Surgeon, private assistant to T. Billroth, developed surgical and gynaecological methods of operation (esp. in the field of plastic surgery); from 1894 head of the Rudolfinerhaus hospital in Vienna.
