Juror, unpaid lay person summoned to assist a court in certain 
criminal cases. By law, jury service is a civil duty. Jurors (men and 
women aged 25 to 65) are randomly selected from the electoral 
register. Sick people, members of the government, members of the 
clergy, judges and previously convicted people or people for whom it 
would mean a personal or economic burden are exempted from jury 
service.
