Warranty: If an object that is part of a transaction fails to have the 
properties commonly expected of it or expressly agreed upon, the 
supplier shall be liable (Secs. 92 et seq. General Civil Code); 
depending on the nature of the defect, the contract shall be 
terminated, the purchase price lowered and/or the defect eliminated. 
In principle, claims shall be lodged with the competent court (in the 
case of personal property within 6 months, in the case of real 
property within 3 years). Special provisions govern warranty in the 
case of livestock (on account of incubation periods).
