d. Vienna, Nov. 25, 1936, mountaineer, geologist and palaeontologist. 
From 1882 at the Imperial Institute for Geology, director from 
1920-1923. Important mountaineer, significant achievements in the 
geology of higher alpine regions, geological finds of major 
significance .
