d. Prague (Czech Republic), April 23, 1936, anatomist, pathologist. 
Professor of pathological anatomy at the universities of Vienna and 
Prague, significant achievements in the fight against tuberculosis 
(Ghon-Kuess tuberculosis foci), detected how the tuberculosis pathogen 
developed.
