b. Lustenau (Vorarlberg), July 18, 1963, racing skier. Since 1976 has 
competed for Luxembourg (citizenship in 1987); has won the World Cup 
in all Alpine disciplines. Overall winner of the World Cup five times 
(1985, 1986, 1989, 1991, 1993). Silver medals at the 1992 Olympic 
Games in giant slalom and super G. Won a total of 11 medals in world 
championship events (4 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze). Retired from 
racing in 1997.
