Giselbrecht, Ernst, b. Dornbirn (Vorarlberg), Nov. 7, 1951,
architect. Studied architecture at the Graz University of Technology;
since 1985 independent architect with offices in Graz and Bregenz.
1996/1997 intendant of the Sommerakademie ("Schwerpunkt
Holz") in Murau (summer academy on innovation with wood).
Numerous solo exhibitions, e.g. in Berlin, Ljubljana, Prague and
Edinburgh. Considered one of Austria´s leading architects
specialising in wood construction. 1978 K.-Scheffel-Gedaechtnispreis
(K. Scheffel Memorial Prize), 1989 Piranesi Award, 1995 Austrian State
Prize for Industrial Architecture.
