Gjaidalm, ski resort in Upper Austria, northeast of the Dachstein 
massif, cable car. On Gjaidalm, the Speleological Institute of the 
Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry operates a research centre at 
Oberfeld (1800m), which conducts studies in a variety of fields such 
as geomorphology, climatology, and karst hydrography as well as soil 
and vegetation research.
