b. Aussig (Ústi nad Labem, Czech Republic), Dec. 25, 1906,
d. Nov. 22, 1989, Adelaide (Australia), paleontologist,
micropaleontologist and geologist. 1932-37 petroleum geologist in the
USSR, 1938-50 in New Guinea; 1950-71 taught at the University of
Adelaide. The first scientist to describe the oldest known
pre-Cambrian body fossils in Australia.
