b. Lvív, Ukraine (then Lemberg), Dec. 14, 1910, 
d. Pavlochrod (Russia, killed in action), Feb. 21, 1943. Main activist 
in the attempted coup by National Socialists in July 1934 ( July 
Putsch of 1934). In 1932 head of the German Soldiers Association 
(Deutscher Soldatenbund), from April 1934 leader of the illegal SS 
unit 89 (SS-Standarte 89), which occupied the Federal Chancellery in 
Vienna. In 1939 member of the Bulgarian Security Agency, 1942 war 
correspondent of the armed divisions of the SS at the Eastern Front.
