Globasnitz, Carinthia, municipality in the district of Voelkermarkt, 
alt. 541m, pop. 1,597, area 38.34 km%%sup 2/% (Slovenian: Globasnica), 
situated between Jaunfeld plain and Karawanken mountain range. - 
Customs office, forestry; Roman excavations  Juenna; Romanesque-Gothic 
parish church with wall paintings (14%%sup th/% /15%%sup th/%  
centuries), extended in 1946, early Gothic charnel house with frescos 
(16%%sup th/%  century). Wall dating back to late Antiquity at the  
Hemmaberg Mountain. Open-air museum with excavations of five early 
Christian churches. Fortified church near the village of Feuerberg 
from the late Gothic period, Feuerberg castle (17%%sup th/%  century).
