Goldschmiedt, Guido, b. Trieste (Italy), May 29, 1850,
d. Gainfarn (Lower Austria) Aug. 6, 1915, chemist, specialising
in alkaloid research; professor at the universities of Prague and
Vienna; contributed to the research into stupp fat and different
organic compounds and was the first to carry out the procedure of fat
hardening. Awarded the Lieben prize in 1892.
