Gottfried von Admont, b. Swabia, around 1100, 
d. Admont (Styria) June 26, 1165, Benedictine monk. From 1137/38 abbot 
of Admont, introduced the Hirsau reform, began to rebuild the 
monastery after a fire in 1152. Worked as author, enlarged the library 
and founded a separate school of painting and writing.
