Gruenburg, Upper Austria, municipality in the district of Kirchdorf an 
der Krems, alt. 365 m, pop. 3,698, area 43.25 km%%sup 2/%, 
small industrial town in the Steyrtal valley, last stop of the 
Steyrtalbahn railway line, which was shut down in 1982, now runs steam 
engines during the summer. - External office of the youth welfare 
department of the District Commission, young people´s home 
(Leonstein Castle), Sengsengebirge nature preserve (since 1976, area 
35 km%%sup 2/%), Feichtau meteorological station, Agonitz power 
plant; wood processing (parquet flooring, furniture, wooden articles, 
wood turning), production of cardboard and corrugated cardboard 
packaging. - Late Gothic parish church with Baroque north chapel.
