Gruenne, Count Karl Ludwig, b. Vienna, Aug. 25, 1808, 
d. Baden (Lower Austria), June 15, 1884, regular officer. In 1848 
principal court tutor of emperor Franz Joseph I, from 1850-1859 
chairman of the Military Central Chancellery. Favourite of Archduchess 
Sophia, strongly influenced the young Franz Joseph.
