Gratwein, Styria, market town in the district of Graz-Umgebung, alt. 
392 m, pop. 3,272, area 4.55 km%%sup 2/%, on the mouth of 
the River Schirningbach (flowing into the River Mur/Mura), on the 
opposite side of Gratkorn. - Hoergas-Enzenbach Provincial Hospital 
(hospital in Hoergas, department of pulmonary diseases in Enzenbach), 
multipurpose hall; about 55 % of the working population (1991) 
employed in industry and trade: metal (grates etc.) and wood 
processing, veneer production. - One of the oldest parishes in Styria, 
late Gothic parish church with choir (around 1400), to the west of 
Gratwein  Rein monastery (in the municipality of Eisbach).
