Grimmenstein, Lower Austria, market town in the district of 
Neunkirchen, alt. 405 m, pop. 1,384, area 14.75 km%%sup 2/%, 
climatic health resort (92,868 overnight stays) in the Pitten Valley, 
at the foot of the Kulmriegel mountain (758 m), in the Bucklige 
Welt hill country. - Hochegg Lower Austrian provincial hospital and 
tuberculosis sanatorium (built in 1916), Hochegg convalescent home (of 
the salaried employees' pension insurance agency), old people's home 
for the blind; the sanatorium and the convalescent home are the main 
economic factors (social services). - Remains of a citadel and outer 
buildings of a castle from the 12%%sup th/%  century, derelict since 
the 16%%sup th/%  century.
