Großweikersdorf ist ein alter Weinbauort im Schmidatal im Weinviertel mit einem Sportzentrum, einer Mühle und Gewerbe- und Weinbaubetrieben.

Sehenswert sind in Großweikersdorf, das urkundlich erstmals 1221 erwähnt wurde, insbesondere:

* Pfarrkirche (Neubau 1733-40 nach Plänen von J. E. Fischer von Erlach) mit spätbarockem Hochaltar (1740) und Altarbildern von M. Altomonte (1734) und M. J. Schmidt (1749) 
* Barockhäuser auf dem Marktplatz 
* Mariensäule (1720) 
* Pranger 
* I.-Pleyel-Museum in Ruppersthal
