Gronemann, Karoline, b. Vienna, July 3, 1869,
d. Vienna, Aug. 20, 1911, civil servant (Southern Railway) and
pioneer of women's vocational training. Founded the "Working Women's
Association" for employees in the private sector in 1901, organised
evening classes, counselling centres and published a newspaper for
women, the "Oesterreichische Frauenrundschau". aimed to improve the
professional opportunities and self-confidence of women, esp. of
single working women.
