Gusenbauer, Alfred, b. St. Poelten, Lower Austria, Feb. 8, 1960, 
political scientist and politician (SPOe). 1981-90 employed by the 
SPOe, 1984-90 Federal Chairman of the Socialist Youth (SJ), 1990-99 
employee of the Lower Austrian Chamber of Labour; Member of the 
''Bundesrat ''1991-93, since 1993 Member of the ''Nationalrat, ''since 
2000 head of the Social Democrat Parliamentary Group. In 2000 briefly 
Federal Party Secretary of the SPOe, since 2000 Party Chairman of the  
Sozialdemokratische Partei Oesterreichs.
