b. Grafenstein (Carinthia), Aug. 4, 1727, 
d. Klagenfurt (Carinthia), 1790, Jesuit, Slovene language researcher, 
religious author. 1748-1751 in Leoben, 1751-1754 teacher in Graz, 
1759-1760 prefect of the Vienna Theresianum (diplomatic academy); then 
lived and worked in Slovakia and finally in Carinthia; representative 
of the linguistic interests of the Slovene population in Carinthia, 
strongly influenced their national and cultural endeavours.
