b. Tamsweg, Salzburg, Oct. 18, 1839, 
d. Vienna, March 23, 1917, forestry expert. Graduated from the 
Hungarian Forestry Academy at Schemnitz (Banská Stiavnica, 
Slovakia), 1867/68 Assistant at the Mariabrunn Forestry Academy (now 
Vienna, 14th district), 1877-1911 Professor of Forestry Management at 
the Hochschule fuer Bodenkultur (University of Agricultural Sciences) 
in Vienna, often held the office of University Rector.
