Austria), Aug. 30, 1945, toolmaker and politician (Austrian Social 
Democratic Party, SPOe). 1978-1980 provincial secretary of the trade 
union for workers in the metal, mining and energy sectors, 1985-1998 
SPOe party chairman in the province of Lower Austria, 1979-1980 member 
of the Lower Austrian provincial parliament, 1980-1999 provincial 
councillor for municipal and residential buildings, 1986-1999 deputy 
head of the Lower Austrian provincial government.
