b. Vienna, Aug. 22, 1722, 
d. Vienna, Dec. 9, 1806, law scholar. 1773-1804 mayor of Vienna; from 
1778 advised Emperor Joseph II on administrative re-organisation. 
During his term of office the old Vienna General Hospital (1784), the 
Theater in der Josefstadt (1788) and the Theater an der Wien 
(1798-1801) were built.
