b. Oradea (Romania), March 20, 1853, d. Vienna, April 7, 1932, 
cartographer, general, and chemist. 1916-1918 commander of the 
military geographical institute. Leading position in scientific 
photography, reproduction technique and photogrammetry. In 1907 he 
introduced offset printing and organised the mapping of Brazil 
(1920-1924) and Hungary.
