bi-seasonal tourism (51,000 overnight stays), located in the Fritztal 
valley in the Pongau region. Wood-working industry, trade in 
agricultural machinery. First documented mention 1325, mines and 
metallurgical works 16%%sup th/% -19%%sup th/%  centuries; Gothic 
parish church (1472-92) with altars by A. Mascagni; old Pongau Paarhof 
and Haufenhof farm buildings (17%%sup th/%  and 18%%sup th/% 
 centuries).
