Haas, Georg Friedrich, b. Graz (Styria), Aug. 16, 1953, composer. 
Studied composition and musical training at the College of Music in 
Graz and obtained his postgraduate degree under F.  Cerha at the 
Vienna College of Music. Next to his work as a composer also teaching 
assignments at the Graz College of Music. His chamber opera "Nacht" 
based on texts by F. Hoelderlin premiered at the Bregenz Festival in 
1996. E.-Krenek Prize of the City of Vienna in 1998.
