Haberler, Gottfried, b. Purkersdorf (Lower Austria), July 20, 1900, 
d. Washington (USA),  May 6, 1995, national economist, advocate 
of free exchange rates. From 1936 in the USA at Harvard University, 
greatly contributed to the contents of the programme of the 
International Monetary Fund. Honorary doctorate of the University of 
Economics and Business Administration in Vienna.
