Hackhofer, Johann Cyriak, b. Wilten (Tyrol), Feb. 14, 1675, 
d. Vorau (Styria), May 9, 1731, painter. Most prominent 
representative of baroque monumental painting in Styria, from 1708 
worked for Vorau monastery and its parishes.

frescoes: monastery (chapter house, Sacristy), Markt- and 
Friedhofskirche (church) in Vorau; Schloss Festenburg castle; altar 
paintings in numerous Styrian churches.
