!!!Hadersdorf, Schloss
Hadersdorf Palace, located in Vienna´s 14%%sup th/% district,
first documented mention 1130; moated palace, destroyed in 1683,
restored in 1689, 1775 bought and altered by Ernst Gideon Laudon. A
masonry bridge leads to the late-medieval portal with 2 circular
towers (now used as a restaurant), with a 2-storey main building at
the back. 1945-1955 used by Soviet troops, 1962 renovated, main
building now used as training centre by the federal government. Some
of the original furniture is now in the Auersperg Palace in Vienna.
Classicist tomb of Laudon by F. A. Zauner 1790 in the English
garden: sarcophagus on stepped pedestal surrounded by a lancet grid,
cover decorated with triangular gablets, figure of a mourning warrior.
