b. Wimsbach (municipality of Bad Wimsbach-Neydharting, Upper Austria), Jan. 30, 1857, 
d. Bad Ischl (Upper Austria), June 2, 1925, engineer, industrialist. 
Founded the Stern & Hafferl construction company with J. Stern in 1882 
and in 1906 the "Elektrizitaetswerke Stern & H.", which brought 
electricity to large parts of Upper Austria and Salzburg, and built 
the Salzkammergut and Schafberg railways.
